FTMA funding call: Opening September 2020

We’re pleased to announce that NBIC has been awarded a second round of funding from BBSRC to support our current Flexible Talent Mobility Award (FTMA) Account.

The funding call will be open in September with the aim to fund the following two types of exchange of personnel, perspectives and knowledge, skills and expertise between the academic and industrial sectors:

  • Innovation Placements: targeted at PhD students who have just submitted their thesis who wish to undertake placements within a business environment
  • Innovation Fellowships: targeted at talented early career researchers (postdoctoral researchers, and those early in their career who are equivalent to BBSRC David Phillips Fellows or equivalent from industry) who have the potential to be the next generation of leaders within UK academic and industrial research

The fixed end date of the FTMA scheme is currently March 2021, we strongly advise all applications to plan for the funded activities to be completed by this date. No cost extensions beyond March 2021 are subject to UKRI approval, consequently we cannot award funding to placements or fellowships that take place after March 2021, at this stage.

We will update the funding conditions soon.
